Creation of Anchored Feather Boutique
Welcome to The Anchored Feather LLC Boutique!
Hi, I’m Catherine.
I want to share with you how Anchored Feather Boutique became a dream come true of mine. I am so honored to serve the Lord with this boutique, some days I even find myself pinching my skin because it still feels like a dream.
After serving alongside my husband Jason in the U.S. Navy, I found myself in despair when I was diagnosed with a Pituitary tumor, cutting my career short. This took a toll on my family, as I faced a very long road to recovery, unsure of where life’s journey was going to take me.
During this time, I found myself constantly praying for a miracle that would one day lift my spirits and give me something to look forward to. Unable to work and feeling down about my struggle, I needed a way to feel better about myself. I decided to enter college part time as a means of distraction and a constant reminder for strength. College was something I found that really helped me stay positive at a time that seemed so dark and weary. With all the help from our family and friends, along with the help from my understanding professors, I was able to pursue a dream come true. I never thought this was possible to achieve, especially with all that I was going through.
While pursuing the college dream and recovering from my illness, bills were starting to pile up and finances were becoming a larger struggle for my husband and I. We were financially strapped for cash and I was still physically unable to work, all while my husband was to deploy again. This led me to return to something I once loved.
Having tried direct sales before the Navy, I decided to turn to direct sales once again as a way to help take the financial stress off my family. I fell in love with the flexibility and the personal relationships I always encountered along the way. This was something I knew I was good at and was able to do even with all my crazy doctor’s appointments and the hectic school schedule I had. That being said, I promised myself that when Jason returned I would give up the direct sales life and just finish recovering and focus on school. However, when he did return home, I continued to pursue this journey.
Looking back on all the struggles in my life, the one thing I always enjoyed since I was a little girl, was shopping. Shopping was something that made life better you can say. I have always loved shopping at boutiques and even found myself blessed to work at one as a teenager. Boutiques have always been one of my happy places. The atmosphere, the women, the camaraderie... I love how a one-woman boutique can serve the lives of so many.
Jason knew that it was always a dream of mine to own my own business while finding a way to serve the Lord. With Jason’s support and encouragement and continued pray to find a way to open my heart and fulfill my dreams of servitude, Anchored Feather LLC., became a reality.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Proverbs 3:5-6
Anchored Feather LLC. was created to serve as a reminder that I am one of God's children and He is almighty. It also reminds me every day how truly blessed I am to be able to enrich other people’s lives and continue to do something I love.
He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. Psalm 91:4
The anchor holding the feather symbolizes God's Promise. God promises to all his children that one day we too can have everlasting life! Like the anchor that holds the ship and prevents it from becoming shipwrecked; we too must keep our faith and anchor our souls in him and one day our spirit will be free in eternal lasting life. I truly believe that our love is anchored wherever life takes us. I believe that if you anchor your soul, your spirit to be free... and with that, you may achieve any dream possible.
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, both secure and firm, and entering into that within the veil. Hebrews 6:19
I've prayed for God to open my heart and fulfill my dreams… and now here we are! I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting me and my dreams as well as my business.
I hope you will find the love in this boutique that I have poured into it. It’s a great place for me to find purpose while my husband is away and we appreciate your support immeasurably.
"Anchor your soul, Free your spirit, believe in your dream!" Catherine A. Livingston
